A Message from the Founder

2010/11 has been a year of growth and innovation for Partners for Youth. For the fifth consecutive year we have experienced enormous progress. Our continued expansion into new communities in the province has provided more children and youth with the opportunity for success. Our positive and stable financial position has provided us with the means to support and encourage more youth at risk to reach their full potential.

The patrons, honorary directors, members of the board, and advisory members have continued to support and move the organization in positive directions. We are blessed with the exceptional leadership of our CEO, John Sharpe, and greatly appreciate all of the wonderful work being accomplished by John and the dedicated Partners for Youth staff team. Thank you all so very much. The development of new initiatives, the continued implementation of our foundation programs and new financial partnerships have been significant in our growth.

When Partners for Youth was founded almost 18 years ago, one of our visions at the time was the establishment of a working farm for at risk youth. This concept, while by no means modest in size or cost, has always remained very important to me personally. The potential benefits of such a site have been documented and promoted in other jurisdictions for years. At long last, with the support of a number of other groups and the provincial government, we have begun to turn this dream into reality. As we move into our third decade of opera-tion the results of this project, combined with our other innovative initiatives, will propel us to provide more opportunities and a positive future for many more youth at risk across the province.

My sincere thanks to our supporters for your continued investments in our work and I look forward to our ongoing partnership for youth.

Sincerely,

Hon. James Ross, Founder and Chairman Emeritus
